Torch skills are primary to metalworking. With heat, we solder and anneal metal to form or create surface texture. with metal. Required for subsequent classes. This is the introduction to working with a torch, looking at metal to tell by color whether you are at the temperature for soldering and for annealing. Without this basic class, you will not be able to take the following classes in the Metalsmithing Series of classes: Fabrication and Story Telling, Findings: Chains, Clasps, and Pinbacks. This class may be useful for fabrication with Acrylic, wood, and a laser cutter, but it will not be necessary. Basic materials are provided. $40
